Welcome to 2017 and winter quarter. LA Stop the Traffik is an on-campus organization
that addresses the topic of human trafficking. This is one of many problems that we as people need to work on and pay attention to. On January 21st, our members came together and joined fellow UCLA students at the Women’s March Los Angeles.
Signs ready and energy high, we boarded the school bus at 6:30 am to Pershing Square.
With the march scheduled at 10 am, there was already a large group of people gathered around hours prior. People of all races, colors, genders, sexuality, ages, and beliefs were present to support and march for one unified belief: defending our human rights.
It was a great experience for everyone to be a part of a global march on what is quite possibly a historic day. There were so many creative, funny, intelligent, powerful, and emotional messages on the signs made by everyone. We’d like to pass along some of these words.
